Classic Plots, Classic Magic

Last week, I presented my new lecture for International Magic. My yearly lecture for Martin Mcmillan is always a well attended affair. This new lecture was debuted for The Nine of Diamonds Group up in Edinburgh and for East Coast Colective in Great Yarmouth.

Martin and his team of Cliff, Barry and Marco Volino always make me feel welcome and supported. Throughout the calender year, the line up of world class lectures is truly  outstanding and I have been privileged to present my lectures on many occasion for Martin and his community of magicians.

My lecture focused on looking at the classic plots in magic and in so doing distinguishing what the best interpretation of those plots are. For example, “The Miser’s Dream” is a classic plot, in my opinion, Dr Sawa’s “Slot Machine” is the best version of that plot in coin magic.

I then presented my version of this wonderful effect. This wonderful effect is the perfect example of a vanish and spectacular finale of coins being produced while being supported by a wonderful story and plot.

It is great to see many magicians taking their magic seriously. Many came up to me after the presentation to ask further coaching.

I want to thank Martin and his team for hosting my lecture and as always, I look forward to my return next year.  If you would like me to lecture for your club send me an email so that we can set this up.
